Graduate Housing offers top-of-the line housing for students,

comfortable and convenient. It has been Graduate Housing's experience
that many students want places to live that are comparable in quality
and comfort to what they have at home. Many professionals need to be
close to the University but would rather not live in typical "student
housing." Graduate Housing provides accommodations that meet such
expectations.
Just west of the Central Grounds on Jefferson Park Avenue is Iron Gate, the former site of an elegant turn of the century estate whose white columned mansion provides the focal point for Graduate Housing's rental properties. Graduate Housing purchased the property in 1994, which is essentially the size of a city block, and has, in conjunction with the surrounding neighborhood and the planning authorities of the City of Charlottesville, has designed and built three separate structures that house a total of 12 apartments ranging from one to four bedrooms each. The decision to build smaller structures stemmed from our desire to maintain character of the surrounding residential neighborhood and to preserve as many of the estate's original trees and boxwood hedges as we could. |
